Review of the Month - Eureka Sunrise 9, 5-Person 3-Season Tent

On a camping trip, the last thing you want is to wake up in the night to find that your tent is collapsing. You want something strong that can hold its own weight, no matter if you are on a family camping trip or backpacking across the country. The Eureka Sunrise 9 tent is marketed as a heavy-duty spacious tent designed for up to five people. It features four windows and a ventilated door.

Since this Eureka model was created as a three season tent, it is designed with fall, summer and spring in mind. It is best used for mild and warm weather camping trips. This tent is durable but it is not likely to withstand some of the intense winter weather.

The floor is built pretty tough and can outlast some of the elements. Since the tent is waterproof, dew and rain should not be troublesome matters for campers while they are sleeping. The dome roof of the tent makes it stronger than other designs. Rain will not collect on top of the tent to weigh it down in the night. Snow and high winds, however, are not good matches for the Eureka Sunrise.

It is easy to stay organized with this tent because it offers different storage pockets. The placement of the windows and doors make it easy to stay cool during the day and warm on chilly evenings. Though this tent claims to have been designed with five people in mind, it actually seems better suited for three or four adults.

This tent is described by users as easy to set up, however it most likely requires two sets of hands. A short person may have trouble assembling the tent alone but the instructions are a breeze. Taking the tent down and storing it should not be a problem. Some tents are hard to put back into the storage bags they come in but this one is an exception to the rule. The Sunrise is heavier than similar tents, making it a pain to hike with. For a four-person family camping trip this tent should provide enough space, comfort and durability.
